3 Trainings A Day ??

Well its Wednesday afternoon, and I have 3 sleeps until the Big Day!

My training schedule has been up'd to 3x a day. Monday it felt great, and I have alot of energy...Thought ohh this for 5 Days will be a breeze. Yesterday, a bit harder. My AM workout was good.

Tuesday Evening Workout:
Good Ol' Crossfit Class :) 60 Toe to Bar, 100 Push Ups, 200 DU (or 800 skips) 30 Minutes to complete.
Was on skipping, but didn't complete it fully :( My hands are ripped open from Monday, and last night I was truly EXHAUSTED!

Drove out of town to a Work Dinner, and sure felt it on the drive back!

Wednesday:
Chicken for breaky, was in a rush! So incredibly tired, and was expecting some deliveries for my new place, so was impossible to make a 6am workout.
Lunch Workout: Same as Tuesdays Lunch work out. Yummy Chicken and Broccoli after.
Evening Workout:

Suit to be picked up! Last minute running around, as July 1st most stores will be closed for Canada DAY!

I am feeling good, the only part I am nervous about is the contest is in FRENCH, and I MOSTLY speak ENGLISH. So I am not nervous to get on stage, I am not nervous to walk infront of people, I am nervous that I wont understand what they want me to do! Hopefully at the briefing on Friday - I will feel mor confident, and relax!

On the agenda for Tonight: A nice Sauna after my workout to relax, and sweat some water out!

I've been so busy this week, I haven't had time to be "sad", but I've also had some serious support from the Ladies, I couldn't ask for a better support team.

Did I mention about my Contest, I am doing a Photo shoot! OHHHH YES! Pretty excited, something I've always wanted to do -  Heading to Ottawa to visit my Friends Husband at the Studio for my first Photo shoot experience.

St. Jean Weekend

Well it was a long weekend here in QC, and I thought I had a pretty good plan to enjoy it - however, as things would have it in my life these days things went completely opposite...

Friday:
9am Fitness Apt. with a Professional Bodybuilder for my Comp Diet. Had to venture over a Bridge to St.Bruno! Went amazing, altered some reco's and created what better be the award Winning Diet Plan for my last week.

10am First Workout of the Day
Lower Body -  Front Clean and Squats. 4 x 10

11am - Fight with the 'boy', Lose Custody of Dog, return home in tears!
He had been in NYC on "Work", and returned in an awful mood, and upset at everything I've done (pretty standard these days).

1pm: Second Workout of the Day
My energy was very drained (crying will do that to you, Losing a dog will also kick you while your done), but my Trainer wasn't having any of it, and insisted on my no backing out. aBS + Upper Body. Push Press and Pulls up (20 each 4 rounds). I was upset, angry, exhausted, etc. ... but when I finished it, felt FREAKING FAB!

One more good public argument in Griffintown to top off an already amazingly-happy afternoon!

Then off to my amazing Friends for a Housewarming!! Her chic new loft in the ever so popular Griffintown, was glowing and it was the best chance to get out and meet you people! As my bedtime 1:30 rolled around, I was quite satisfied with having gone, cleared my mind, meet some new fab montreal faces, and enjoyed a Single Ladies Night!

Saturday: The day from Hell!
Well as usual, the fighting between us was escalating and we decided to not spend his Birthday together, at the same time I was told in very rude tones that I'd never see my Dog again. I assumed this was the "anger" speaking, and stil have my fingers crossed I'll be able to see my baby again soon....

With my emotions on the verge of a break down, and feeling gloom about the end of a 4 year battle, I decided to visit my eternally supportive sister for a night on the town in Ottawa. Not exactly what the Trainer would suggest as good pre-contest prep, but was needed for a mood booster forsure.

Sunday: Woke up, from the best afternoon Ottawa had to offer (Rib fest, followed by a Pub, a wee afternoon nap, some Piano players and seafood at Fat Tuesdays, and ofcourse the ultimate dancing at Pattys and Hooleys). It felt amazing again, to be a Single Gal out on the town with her Sister having fun.... Even met a gentleman who ever so kindly walked me home. The drive back was short and sweet ...Oh wait minus the most ridiculous phone calls, with manipulative words, followed by fake emails, and a lot of Lies. I made the BIG DECISION and asked him to NEVER speak to me again. . . He listened (thank god, and no communication to date)!

Spent an hour BBQ'in all the food I picked up a Costco (Chicken and Fish x 30 pieces), into the last week, and the diet is strict, and the offerings are slim ... It will pay off though, as I am walking across stage!

Long Overdue

Well its Thursday, and the last day of work before the LONG WEEKEND! I just realized that its been 10 days since my last entry, and the time is surely flying by fast before the big day.

Last weekend, the Ladies and I headed to the Cottage, for some Tri-Training opportunities. It was amazing to get back in open water, ride the bikes on more then crappy QC roads, and of course best of all practice the transitions. It was a bit of an awakening, given these past 4/5 months I've been mostly strength training with little to no cardio!

With less then 2 Weeks to go, we've been focused on drop sets and lots of cardio, so here is what this week looked like:
Monday - Back and Biceps with alot of rowing! Following by a 8KM evening run
Tuesday - A small circuit (back, tris, calves, etc.) and again more ROWING!
Wednesday - Ladies Bike Nite - Amazing workout at the F1 Track, lots of hard pedaling, and some standing!
Thursday - First big Swim of the Season! Enjoyed a great Swim workout in the outdoor pool on the Island.
Friday - Off to see another Fitness Consultant  - More INFO to come on how that goes!

Things on the home front, are as interesting as usual ... a lot of back and forth, lots of "circles" happening...more talk then action!  I am trying my best to just go with the flow, and let life take me where I am suppose to go. I know I am suppose to be happier - so I am just waiting for that moment to come. IN FACT - Yesterday I had a bird shit on me, and I am pretty sure it means GOOD LUCK, So BRING IT ON!!!

Why are Mondays so rough?

This weekend was amazing! My best friend came to town for her 25th Birthday, bringing with her two more besties. We had tickets to Rihanna, and were ready for a super girly-weekend.

Friday Workout: I was exhausted, actually didnt sleep the night before at all (stressful evening ...guess why!), so was about 15minutes late for the gym, and barely had energy to complete the workout It felt like a waste, and I was pretty mad at myself, but I just didn't have it in me that morning.

Friday evening the boy and I were invited to a Friends BBQ, it was nice to get out and see everyone again - the weather was finally looking up in Montreal, and who doesn't love some BBQ'd food on a Friday. We had homemade patties from the grassfed beef all the Gents buy from a Local farmer at the gym. And I sipped a wine-spritzer (Wine and some bubbly water) to enjoy the afternoon. The evening was a bit more dramatic as the Boy was quite rude, and made some pretty sketchy decisions. I took the hi-road, and curled up in bed with my Puppy!

Saturday the Ladies arrived! I had woken up at 5am...5 on a Saturday, it was awful and couldnt fall back asleep....However, I was pretty excited for the day - Miss Z was in from Vancouver to enjoy Montreal, and the wonderful Grand Prix, and the Oshawa Ladies arrived mid day. We had a great BBQ (Can you guess? Chicken and Veggies!)out in the MTL-West Chalet, followed by some shopping downtown. JJ hosted us for some drinks + snacks before the concert, and in no time at all - We were rocking out to Rihanna, and dancing the night away!

Sunday I had a "rest day" this involved sleeping in, taking naps, kicking my feet up and of course early to bed :) It wasn't too hard to accomplish as it was pouring rain in Montreal. These days sleep is not coming easily. Enjoyed a great Sunday night BBQ (Chicken, Chicken, Chicken and greens!) with Miss Z and the Boy

Monday:
630 am Workout! Back at it for the Week. BUTT DAY :)
Squats and Good Mornings to wake up the rear, followed by my Favorite Butt Blasting Machine and walking lunges ...next up Calf raises and Kick Backs, lastly some pretty sweet Abs moves! Feels great to have energy and a smile back today.  Post Workout Protein Shake (with all the necessary Supplements inside).

Mid Morning Snack - Eggs and Lettuce, and a piece of Fruit (needed something w. Sugar to keep my eyes open at my desk).

Now my eyes still aren't quite open.. so I made need some black coffee.

On the Menu for the evening - Chicken for Lunch, Fish for dinner! Running group after work with the Ladies, hopefully the rain holds off. Tomorrow is a double workout with my Trainer, since Thursday I'm home to wish my sweet Baby sister a goodbye!

Sneak Peak @ the Suit ...

Cry me a River

Yesterday was Wednesday Night Bike night with my Ladies, and we were headed to Mont-Royal for some serious hill climbs. Being a new-cyclist is always fun because when things go wrong, or get tricky you just aren't sure what to do next. Prime example was last night - Alex and I  couldn't fix the pump, we were out in the parking lot - bikes everywhere, already about 10 minutes late not sure if we are going to squeeze a bike ride in before the Storm and sure enough we can't even inflate our Tires! Luckily are shining Coach 'A' came to our rescue and able to identify and fix the problem in .3 seconds! Amazing workout - Hills are never to be under estimated in the A#%-ability.

Montreal was over 30 degrees yesterday, and sickly humid - So after making a mad dash to our Cars due to an insane Summer Storm, I returned home (a solid 30 minute drive) to discover the power was out in my House. Very scary and creepy, as I'm renting a house in the 'burbs and had a false alarm last week so I was super chicken.

Headed downtown to attempt a restful sleep - but at 30 degrees nothing is 'pleasant"! Up and at the gym for 6:45 for what should of been a killer work out, but my lack of sleep and weird sensation to "CRY" was truly putting a damper on my mood (and motivation to move).

Workout: Legs - Squat + Lunges (and Calves for good keeping!), with my Butt Blaster to top it off. It was also my favorite time of the week - BODY FAT TESTING! Yes - it is as fun as it sounds, a bit painful, but extremely important  to monitor my diet and exercise this close to the Contest.... Despite the bad sleep (which causes issues) we some serious improvements in the rest! My stomach is still my main issue/insecurity so I've got 3.5 week to figure out how to a) Reduce stress in my life b) Be happy with Me, where I am it, etc. c) Lose that stomach...

Food: Post workout had a protein shake (with some Fruit woohoo) and necessary supplements! Good Ol' Chicken and Veggies a few hours later.... and after a good meeting and alignment on my new Work Project I headed to Atwater Market for my lovely Meet and Veggie dish outside near the water....

Today - I've been uncontrollably crying. I can't pinpoint why, what, or even how to stop and even made the emergency call to my Sister for support (something she says I do too often: Call when I'm sad not when I'm happy!) Then I had to make a made dash to a Colleagues office to finish off the round of tears - Only to discover my lovely friend of the month finally appeared (QUITE late, but better later then never). Over the past year I've been on the worst roller-coaster of my life and I finally thought it ended but a bad flair up this last week as set me off, and I am struggling to control it... and jump back on the track.

Part of the reason I decided to do this competition was to give myself space from my old life, and open options and new goals for the NEW DEANNA!

Today's Lesson (and Promise to self): Stop being miserable (identify what is making me sad, and change it). If you would of met me a year ago, I was a VERY VERY happy young lady, with a very independent life, and lots to look forward to ... Somewhere along the way I've lost touch with it, and 2011 is all about getting it back! I've decided today to only include people in my life that make me feel good about myself.

No gym this evening, taking a wee break! As tomorrow I've been promised a KILLLLLER workout at 6am!

4 Weeks to Go

So I've got 4 Weeks out until my 1st Contest and life couldn't be more stressful ...

I am moving July 1st, and because I had lost all my furniture when my Boyfriend and I split I have to find time to house shop while attempting to fit in all my trainings... Next my on again off again Boyfriend and I are rocky so I am stressed ... needless to say can't sleep which is affecting my "body" big time at such a critical spot in the Contest Prep :(

Today's workout:
Back Rowing and Sumo Dead lift High Pulls with Abs after! (After no sleep was actually a killer workout)

Food:
Yummmy food for today - Chicken, Chicken and Chicken! However - to lessen the stress on my body we've added a piece of Fruit in after workouts (with my shake), and boy oh boy did that help out my mood this am! Mmmmmmm SUGAR!

Prep for Contest... The suit is in (just needs some minor adjustments), the shoes have been purchased, posing classes are underway (courtesy of http://www.sylviatremblay.com/english/index.htm)  , tanning products being ordered... Now to finalize the hair, make up and nails :)
Exciting stuff but alot of prep in many forms...I've been advised to set up all appointments ahead of time to ease stress (which I need to do)

Tomorrow - AM Workout and Hill climbs on the Bike after work ... Will be a tough day, I better ensure I stay hydrated, get some rest, etc.

6 Weeks to Go

3 Months ago I decided I wanted to enter a "Bikini" Contest, not because I am vain and wanted to show off my body, not because I don't get enough attention at home, but more because I needed a new fitness goal to keep me motivated!

Why the Bikini Category you might ask, well its not as much tone and definition as Fitness or the Body Building category (Less work!), and the entry criteria is pretty open (better chances??), and to be honest it just seemed the least intimidating to start with.

I chose to enter the FCPAQ Contest on July 2nd, a recommendation from a friend! So here I am 6 weeks away from might be the beginning of a new hobby (or sad embarrassing end). Fitness has always been apart of my life, and now it is beginning to feel like it is my life.

Today's Workout, 6:15am
Row and Thrusters (250 m and 10) 4x
Butt Blaster Machine and Squats 10 and 15 x4
(exactly like it sounds - very painful in the Butt),
More rowing  200m and 20 walking Lunges!

Food:
Protein shake after workout
Lean ground turkey, cauliflower and onions for Breaky!
Some Chicken and Spinach for lunch
A spoonful of Almond butter to sustain my sweet-tooth
Chicken and Broccoli - pre-fundraiser to avoid cheating while out

Not the hardest workout you might say ..but last night at 5:30pm I had a great workout, followed by interval running so lets just say the break/rest time was short and sweet and I was feeling it today.

Tonight I'm off to a Fundraiser, so I wont make two workouts ... But will squeeze in a good walk with my beautiful Puppy Coco.
